non inflatable soccer/basket balls

So if we can have non inflatable tennis balls that get hit at 100mph, why cant we have non-inflatable soccer balls and basketballs? Every now and then we are running out of air on those bad boys. I am sure there is material out there that can replicate the same 'bounce' needed in a basketball without 'filling' it with air.

  1. That is a very interesting thought! But will it be as cheap as the air filled balls? The balls go bad after all that kicking anyway and you have to change them every so often. No?

  2. How long do you think the life of a ball is? Answer that first and I think you will answer your own question. Its quite longer than you think it is. Either way, I do not think price is going to be an issue. Tennis balls e.g. come in various price range. So can Soccer/Basketballs also.
